Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is set to engage in a series of official activities in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad on Saturday. The day will commence at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, where Shah will introduce Bharat Taxi (Gujarat), a cooperative-based ride-hailing service established under the Ministry of Cooperation. This initiative follows the ‘Saarthi Hi Maalik’ model, ensuring that drivers are also stakeholders in the platform.
Following the launch, Shah will preside over a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Circuit House in Sector-20, Gandhinagar. These DISHA meetings focus on assessing the progress of Central government schemes and district-level development projects, with the involvement of MPs, MLAs, and senior administrative officials.
Later in the day, Shah will conduct two separate review sessions in Ahmedabad concerning the ‘Green Lok Sabha’ initiative under the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. The first meeting, scheduled for 5:15 P.M., will involve government officials, followed by a second session at 6 P.M. with organizational representatives. These meetings will evaluate the advancements made under the ‘Samuhik Vriksharopan’ campaign, which is part of a broader afforestation program being executed across the constituency.
In the evening at 7 P.M., Shah will participate in a public ‘Janata Darbar’ in the Sabarmati Assembly segment, encompassing the Raniip and Sabarmati wards. The event will take place at Swaminarayan International School in the Raniip area of the city, focusing on addressing public grievances and constituency matters. This full-day agenda highlights the ongoing emphasis on expanding the cooperative sector, reviewing central schemes, and implementing environmental and civic initiatives in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
