Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to unveil the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election manifesto, known as the “Sankalp Patra,” for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal. Shah, in a social media post, highlighted the desire for change among the people of West Bengal, fatigued by the governance of the Trinamool Congress-led state administration. He expressed eagerness to engage with the residents through a public meeting in Debra, West Midnapore, and a roadshow in Kharagpur.
Shah’s itinerary includes addressing rallies in Chhatna, Bankura district, and Baghmundi, Purulia district, on Saturday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold three consecutive campaign rallies in Jangipur, Murshidabad district, Katwa, East Burdwan district, and Balurghat, South Dinajpur district on the same day. Modi will stay overnight in Siliguri, Darjeeling district, before participating in a roadshow in Siliguri town the following day.
In recent days, Prime Minister Modi has been actively campaigning in West Bengal, addressing rallies in various districts such as Haldia, Asansol, and Suri. The Assembly polls in West Bengal are divided into two phases, with voting on April 23 and April 29 for a total of 294 constituencies. The election results are expected to be announced on May 4.
