Border security management along the India-Bangladesh frontier in Tripura will receive a boost as Union Home Minister Amit Shah plans to assess the security situation and readiness of the BSF and other agencies. Shah, who arrived in Agartala from Shillong, is set to hold meetings and events on Friday. Officials, including Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and other dignitaries, welcomed Shah at the airport.
During his visit, Shah will review border security arrangements and the operational readiness of security agencies to tackle issues like infiltration, smuggling, and border management along the India-Bangladesh border. Following the meeting, security along the Bangladesh border and human habitations near the border fencing will be strengthened. Shah will also visit selected border locations in West Tripura district.
Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects, participate in a tree-planting drive, and attend a Sainik Sammelan during his visit to the Bangladesh border. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha mentioned that the state government had requested Shah to review the situation at the International Border. The state is preparing for Shah’s two-day visit, focusing on enhancing border surveillance and security.
