Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra (Election Manifesto)’ for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal. Key focuses of the manifesto include zero tolerance towards infiltration, transparent state recruitment, economic growth, and women’s empowerment. Shah emphasized a ‘detect, delete and deport’ approach to tackle illegal infiltrators and ensure border security.
After releasing the manifesto, Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to a corruption-free state recruitment system based on merit. The party aims to provide permanent jobs over contractual positions and support job seekers with Rs 15,000 for competitive exam preparations. Additionally, a relaxation of up to five years in age will be granted to those affected by job corruption.
In terms of economic development, the BJP plans to attract significant investments to enhance the state’s financial health and boost employment opportunities. Shah proposed the creation of four new satellite townships, changes in land procurement policies, and the development of Haldia Port and special deep-sea ports. The party also aims to promote tea and jute industries, positioning West Bengal as a key player in the Blue Economy.
The manifesto also focuses on women’s empowerment, promising 100% free transport for females and special investigations into crimes against women by retired judges. It pledges 33% reservation for women in state government jobs, establishment of women’s police stations in all mandals, and round-the-clock work opportunities. The BJP aims to create a safe environment where women can move freely, without restrictions.
