Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) being multilingual to realize its full potential. Kant, speaking at the launch of his book ‘Smarter Than the Storm’, expressed India’s ambition to lead in upcoming technologies. The book focuses on AI and emerging technologies’ role in shaping future economies and governance systems.

Kant stressed the need for AI to align with renewable energy sources like solar and wind for efficiency. Co-author Siddharth Sinha mentioned the IndiaAI mission by the Government of India, aiming to democratize computing and data access. The ‘India AI Impact Summit’ recently held has placed the country on the global AI landscape.

Sinha highlighted AI’s diverse applications, from predicting natural disasters to enhancing data center efficiency. However, he also noted the energy consumption implications of AI. The book provides a forward-looking guide for decision-makers in a rapidly changing global scenario, covering climate action, AI-driven innovation, governance, and economic strategies.
