The ‘Amrit Utsav’, celebrating 75 years of the Rajasthan Assembly’s democratic journey, kicked off at the Assembly House. Former MLAs were moved as they gathered in the Assembly chamber, uniting current and past legislators in a memorable event. The occasion garnered nationwide attention, with public figures lauding Speaker Vasudev Devnani for his innovative approach.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan hailed Speaker Vasudev Devnani’s initiative as exceptional, labeling the gathering of current and former MLAs a “historic occasion.” He emphasized the event’s transcendence of party politics, with representatives from all political factions deeming it unforgettable. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla praised the event as a legislative ‘Mahakumbh’ of public representatives, commending Devnani’s positive vision in orchestrating the grand assembly.
Describing the event as extraordinary, Om Birla highlighted its unprecedented nature in the history of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Both current and former MLAs from various regions expressed joy in participating in the historic reunion, unanimously applauding Devnani’s efforts and characterizing the gathering as remarkable and unprecedented. A total of 410 public representatives attended this unique assembly, including 237 former MLAs, 163 current MLAs, and 10 additional former MLAs who joined on short notice.
Throughout the event, former and current legislators reminisced about the Assembly’s democratic legacy, shared personal insights, recalled their contributions to public service, and offered suggestions for fortifying the institution in the future.
