Anahat Singh has been given the top seed in the women’s category at the World Squash Junior Championships in Ontario, Canada. Ranked 20th globally, Anahat, with 16 singles titles since turning pro in 2023, aims to secure her first world junior title after finishing with a bronze last year.
In the men’s section, Aryaveer Dewan is seeded 5/8 and looks to enhance his reputation following his victory as the fourth Indian to claim the boys’ U-19 crown at the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in May. The World Juniors, featuring Indian talents like Yusha Nafees, Gurveer Singh, Purav Rambhia, Rudra Singh, Anika Dubey, and Saanvi Kalanki, will conclude on July 31.
Anahat Singh, known for her success in the senior circuit, is India’s top contender for the World Junior Squash title. The 18-year-old rising star from New Delhi gained recognition by winning the U11 title at the British Junior Open in 2019 and continued her triumphs by claiming the U15 British Junior Open title in 2023.
Anahat’s accolades include the U17 title at the Asian Junior Championships in Dalian, China, and two bronze medals at the 2022 Asian Games. Notably, she emerged as the senior national champion in 2023 and contributed to India’s victory in the 2025 World Cup, securing the nation’s first SWC title.
