Former MP Anand Mohan, known as a ‘Bahubali’ leader, has once again voiced dissatisfaction with the Janata Dal (United) leadership, even after his son, Chetan Anand, was granted Deputy Minister status by the Bihar government. Anand Mohan, speaking in Patna, emphasized that he stands by all his statements and accused certain sections of the media of distorting his words. He stated, “I speak with careful thought and stand firmly by everything I say.”
In response to queries about his previous controversial comments on “bribe-based politics,” Anand Mohan strongly criticized those who opposed him, remarking, “I do not feel the need to respond to every critic.” He has recently alleged that influential figures within the JD(U) engage in favoritism and monetary dealings while appointing party positions and ministers. Anand Mohan insisted, “Important questions deserve direct responses; they should not be misinterpreted, sidetracked, or watered down.”
Political analysts suggest that Anand Mohan may be displeased that his son did not secure a full ministerial position in the Bihar Cabinet. Mocking the Deputy Minister title given to Chetan Anand, he questioned, “I have already said that a Deputy Chief Minister is essentially a silent Chief Minister. So, what role does a Deputy Minister play?”
Speculation has arisen about potential political realignments or rebellions within the JD(U) following Anand Mohan’s recent statements. He accused certain JD(U) leaders of undermining Nitish Kumar’s political efforts and legacy. Anand Mohan urged, “Those who have undone Nitish Kumar’s lifelong dedication and hard work should be the ones to leave the JD(U).”
