The data, presented in response to a query by Dr. M.K. Vishnu Prasad, Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, showcases Andhra Pradesh’s rapid growth in the renewable energy sector. The state’s capacity additions have surged, indicating a shift towards clean energy sources and sustainable development practices.
Andhra Pradesh’s emphasis on clean energy has led to a remarkable transformation in the state’s renewable energy landscape. The Union government highlighted India’s achievement of sourcing 50% of its electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources ahead of schedule. The state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy aims to draw investments totaling Rs 10 lakh crore by 2029, spanning renewable energy, storage, green hydrogen, transmission, and manufacturing sectors.
