Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held a lengthy meeting at the Chief Minister’s official residence to talk about the latest political situation in the state and the upcoming filling of four Rajya Sabha seats. The discussion between the two leaders gains importance as the opposition YSR Congress Party intensifies its criticism of the coalition government.
During the meeting, they addressed issues such as objectionable comments made by YSR Congress leaders against the Chief Minister and his son, Nara Lokesh, leading to retaliatory actions by TDP supporters. Additionally, they preliminarily discussed the allocation of Rajya Sabha seats among TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP as vacancies are imminent.
The leaders of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena also deliberated on enhancing coordination between the alliance partners to counter attempts by YSR Congress to sow discord among their supporters. Furthermore, they talked about appointing individuals to various nominated positions in government bodies.
Naidu and Pawan Kalyan agreed to devise a unified strategy to counter what they perceive as YSR Congress Party’s efforts to stoke caste-based politics. They emphasized the importance of cautioning TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP leaders and members against falling into the opposition’s divisive tactics.
The discussion also touched upon the Tirupati laddu adulteration issue following the submission of a report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the recent filing of a charge sheet. The leaders strategized on responding to YSR Congress Party’s criticism after lab reports in the charge sheet dismissed claims of animal fat in the ghee used for making sacred laddus.
This meeting occurred after the state Cabinet’s thorough deliberation on the laddu adulteration matter.
