Local body elections in Andhra Pradesh are set to take place soon, as confirmed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a conference with district Collectors at the State Secretariat. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of various sectors such as education, healthcare, and investments, directing officials to support the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises to complement the industrial development in the state.
He also highlighted the significance of resolving issues faced by companies looking to invest in the state promptly, particularly regarding land allocation. Additionally, Chandrababu Naidu stressed the need for local products to establish themselves as recognized brands nationally and globally, drawing parallels to the success of Araku Coffee.
The Chief Minister mentioned the establishment of the Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence Hub in Andhra Pradesh, which has attracted the Carrier Air Conditioning company to the state. This move is expected to facilitate the supply of bulk chillers for data centers and quantum computing facilities. Furthermore, plans for a Quantum Computing Centre in Amaravati aim to create a manufacturing ecosystem for the required equipment, with a focus on integrating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises into the evolving industrial landscape.
Highlighting the importance of logistics for economic growth, Chandrababu Naidu informed officials about upcoming national highway and railway projects worth significant amounts, along with the development of logistics parks to boost economic activity across the state. He also urged preparedness for potential below-normal rainfall due to El Niño, instructing Collectors to plan water management strategies for different types of crops and livestock.
The Chief Minister proposed adopting governance practices from Singapore to enhance administrative efficiency, directing the preparation of a 90-day action plan to implement innovative governance models. He emphasized the role of technology in improving public service delivery and encouraged district Collectors to leverage social media for better communication with the public, focusing on achieving high levels of public satisfaction.
