Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu marked his 76th birthday by visiting an Anna Canteen in Vijayawada to share breakfast with underprivileged individuals. Accompanied by his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, the Chief Minister chose a modest celebration among the poor, laborers, and locals at the canteen.
Beneficiaries at the Anna Canteen conveyed their birthday wishes to Chandrababu Naidu, who, along with his wife, served breakfast and warmly interacted with everyone present. In a generous gesture, Bhuvaneswari donated Rs 76 lakh, covering the operational costs of all 269 Anna Canteens in the state for a day.
To ensure that the underprivileged have access to free meals on his birthday, all canteens in Andhra Pradesh will provide complimentary food to those in need. The meals offered at Anna Canteens for a nominal fee of Rs 5 play a crucial role in supporting the less fortunate, including auto-rickshaw drivers, manual laborers, and daily wage earners.
Chief Minister Naidu highlighted that approximately 2.10 lakh individuals in the state benefit from the Anna Canteens daily, incurring a significant daily expenditure. Meanwhile, Bhuvaneswari and their son, state Minister Nara Lokesh, extended warm birthday greetings to Chandrababu Naidu, praising his dedication to public service and leadership qualities.
