Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s tenure, Tirupati laddu was made using ghee containing chemicals used for cleaning bathrooms. He accused the YSRCP of compromising the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by tampering with the ‘prasadam’ (offering). Chief Minister Naidu highlighted that efforts were made to rectify the situation after the alleged adulteration by the YSRCP.
He further mentioned that there was a noticeable difference between the quality of the laddu offered previously and the current ones. Naidu criticized the YSRCP for prioritizing political displays of strength over addressing public concerns. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of such displays being reserved for election periods and not for other purposes.
Naidu also criticized his predecessor, Jagan Mohan Reddy, for actions that inconvenienced the public. He highlighted instances where the YSRCP allegedly engaged in disruptive behavior, such as trampling mangoes and causing disturbances during public visits. The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to providing secure pattadar passbooks to farmers to prevent any manipulation of land records.
