Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to assist victims of a major fire incident in Kakinada district. The fire, which occurred in Sarlankapalle village, destroyed around 40 thatched houses, rendering over 100 people homeless. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported.
Chief Minister Naidu emphasized the tragic impact of the fire during the Sankranti festival and called for immediate aid to those affected. He ensured that affected families receive accommodation, food, and Rs 25,000 as initial relief. Additionally, he mandated the provision of new homes for each family that lost their residence.
In response to the devastation, Home Minister V. Anitha and officials are already offering assistance to the affected families. The Chief Minister also directed officials to support victims until new houses are constructed, including facilitating the replacement of essential documents lost in the fire.
Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident, where 38 huts were razed to the ground, leaving villagers without shelter or belongings. He urged the government to provide immediate relief, including shelter, food, and financial aid of Rs 1 lakh per affected family. Reddy emphasized the urgency of ensuring victims’ well-being until permanent housing solutions are in place.
