Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and extended an invitation for the inauguration of Bhogapuram International Airport. The Chief Minister, accompanied by Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu and TDP parliamentary party leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, personally invited the Prime Minister during their meeting at Parliament House. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his honor in meeting PM Modi and officially invited him to inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, named after the renowned freedom fighter.
The Chief Minister highlighted the airport’s significance as a tribute to Alluri Sitarama Raju Garu’s legacy of bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in transforming India’s civil aviation sector, making air travel more accessible and affordable for millions. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the airport’s inauguration would open up new avenues for connectivity, tourism, trade, and economic development in Uttar Andhra, aligning with the vision of a progressive India.
Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Bhogapuram Airport is scheduled for inauguration on August 1, with additional facilities like the GMR Skill Development Centre and the Aviation Hub-University to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister described the airport as a pivotal project for North Andhra, expected to boost economic growth by serving as a logistics hub and enhancing global connectivity. He instructed officials to acknowledge the farmers and landowners who contributed land for the airport project by offering them a complimentary air travel opportunity.
To ensure a seamless inauguration event, the Chief Minister instructed officials to make comprehensive arrangements, including traffic management, dedicated parking, and robust security measures. He also emphasized the importance of providing adequate amenities for the public attending the event.
