Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent plea to safeguard India’s foreign exchange reserves, urging the nation to treat it as a crucial mission. Speaking at the CII Annual Business Summit in Delhi, Naidu emphasized the need for self-reliance and resource conservation in light of the current global challenges.
Naidu highlighted the key measures proposed by PM Modi to address emerging global issues, including postponing gold purchases, promoting energy conservation, using public transport, adopting work-from-home practices, reducing fertiliser consumption, and transitioning to natural farming. He stressed the importance of these steps amidst international fuel and energy crises.
The Chief Minister underscored the significance of promoting self-sufficiency in agriculture by reducing fertiliser usage and encouraging natural farming practices, citing benefits to both foreign exchange reserves and public health. Addressing industrialists at the summit, Naidu called for viewing these reforms and conservation efforts as a national mission rather than solely the Prime Minister’s responsibility.
Naidu expressed optimism that India would overcome current challenges and emerge stronger on the global stage, emphasizing the need for energy security. He urged industries to focus on generating their own power on-site to reduce reliance on external energy sources, envisioning a future where every entity generates its own power for sustainability.
