Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called on bankers to assist in boosting economic activities throughout the state. He presided over the 235th State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting at the Secretariat, where discussions centered on the Annual Credit Plan for 2026-27. The meeting also reviewed the loans provided to various sectors such as agriculture, MSMEs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and tenant farmers.
Banks in Andhra Pradesh disclosed that they had disbursed loans amounting to Rs 3,86,249 crore to the agriculture sector in the fiscal year 2025-26. Additionally, they informed the Chief Minister about loans totaling Rs 1,17,357 crore allocated to the MSME sector and Rs 5,19,693 crore to the priority sector. Notably, bankers highlighted that credit disbursement in the state is 137% higher compared to other South Indian states.
Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, Union Bank of India MD & CEO Ashish Pande, Union Finance Ministry Director Neelam Agarwal, RBI Regional Director AO Basheer, NABARD GM KVS Prasad, and other officials were present at the meeting. Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu is set to disburse Rs 3,125.47 crore under the Annadata Sukhibhava–PM Kisan scheme in Linganguntla village, benefiting a total of 46,85,838 farmers.
Under the scheme, 45,69,817 land-owning farmer families and 1,16,021 RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) farmer families cultivating land under the Forest Rights Act will receive financial aid. Last year, the Government distributed a total of Rs 8,985.41 crore under the scheme, with contributions from both the State and Central Governments. The scheme, part of the Super Six promises, offers Rs 20,000 annually to eligible farmer families, with Rs 14,000 from the State Government and Rs 6,000 from the Central Government.
As the first instalment for this year, the State Government will provide Rs 5,000 and the Central Government Rs 2,000 under PM-Kisan, resulting in a total credit of Rs 7,000 to each eligible farmer’s account.
