Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to work towards achieving a 15 percent growth rate for the state. He emphasized the importance of implementing both micro and macro-level planning strategies to meet the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) targets. The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of short-, medium-, and long-term planning to enhance productivity levels across various sectors.
During a review meeting of the Finance department, the Chief Minister stressed the critical role of field-level execution in reaching the targeted growth rate. He urged officials to ensure the effective implementation of plans at the grassroots level. Despite financial challenges, the government has maintained stable electricity tariffs and is supporting key sectors with essential resources like water and electricity.
Naidu directed revenue-generating departments to achieve their targets without burdening the public. He mentioned that completing major projects such as Amaravati and Polavaram would significantly contribute to wealth creation in the state. The Chief Minister assured that priority projects have adequate funding and will be completed with the support of the Central Government.
He also instructed officials to leverage central government schemes like Purvodaya and Sasci to undertake development projects. Naidu reiterated the commitment to implementing welfare schemes as per the welfare calendar and emphasized the need to secure funds owed to the state under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Criticizing the closure of Anna Canteens by the previous government, he highlighted the current administration’s efforts in providing meals to the underprivileged through 269 Anna Canteens statewide.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of streamlining procedures across government departments to attract investments and boost revenue. The review meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav, Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary of Finance Piyush Kumar, and other senior officials.
