Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has issued a strong warning to individuals misusing social media. He has set up a special cell in his office to receive public complaints, urging citizens to report misuse with digital evidence like screenshots and videos. Kalyan emphasized that genuine complaints will be thoroughly examined, forwarded to the relevant authorities, and legal action will be taken.
He highlighted the importance of identifying those who misuse social media through fake accounts and providing their details to the government. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that strict actions will be taken against offenders under various laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. Additionally, he mentioned the possibility of introducing new legislation to tackle social media misuse while ensuring the protection of freedom of expression.
Kalyan’s message comes following the arrest of individuals for making derogatory remarks against political figures. He emphasized the need for respectful criticism and warned of legal consequences for disrespectful behavior. The Deputy Chief Minister underscored that while freedom of expression is a constitutional right, it is not absolute and must be exercised within legal boundaries.
