Andhra Pradesh is seeking collaboration opportunities with Russia in Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, and digital innovation. State minister Nara Lokesh initiated discussions during his visit to Russia. Minister Lokesh engaged with Albert Yefimov, Senior Vice President of Sberbank, a prominent financial and technology institution in Russia.
The meeting aimed to explore Russia’s advancements in sovereign artificial intelligence, digital platforms, advanced computing, and technology-driven innovation. Discussions encompassed various emerging areas such as generative AI, digital public infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, quantum computing, workforce skilling, and technology applications in public services. Sberbank representatives provided insights into the bank’s technology ecosystem, including the GigaChat large language model and AI research initiatives.
Minister Lokesh emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s aspiration to become a leading AI and technology hub. He expressed interest in leveraging global best practices and technological innovations to support the state’s digital transformation agenda. The discussions also delved into the increasing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, covering aspects like early disease detection, diagnostics, medical research, hospital operations, and citizen-facing health services.
The meeting further explored developments in quantum computing and advanced research ecosystems. Lokesh highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s keenness in emerging technologies and discussed potential future collaborations with research institutions, technology firms, and innovation ecosystems in quantum technologies. The dialogue also touched upon technology education and workforce development models, including global approaches to coding education, AI skills development, and industry-oriented training programs.
Both sides also discussed broader opportunities to enhance economic engagement between India and Russia. This included facilitating business connections, supporting exporters, and utilizing technology to enhance cross-border trade ecosystems. Albert Yefimov shared insights into Sberbank’s operations in India and its collaborations with Indian businesses and institutions. The parties agreed to maintain communication and explore mutual interests as opportunities arise.
During his visit to Russia, Lokesh plans to engage with global technology leaders, research institutions, and industry stakeholders across emerging sectors.
