Andhra Pradesh is currently executing 260 projects valued at over Rs 1.23 lakh crore in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. These projects span various sectors including industry, infrastructure, urban development, tourism, medical colleges, roads, and solar power. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the importance of Viability Gap Funding (VGF)-supported projects in propelling future infrastructure growth.
Naidu emphasized the transformative potential of PPP projects in driving development across multiple sectors. He urged for sustainable models in project development with a focus on fostering economic activities. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to tap into Central Government support mechanisms like the Urban Challenge Fund for efficient infrastructure management.
In line with the Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision, officials projected that Andhra Pradesh could attract Rs 8 lakh crore in annual investments through PPP projects. The State aims to concentrate significant infrastructure investments in the Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati Economic Regions. Naidu underscored the importance of aligning all projects with the micro and macro objectives of the Swarna Andhra Vision for holistic development.
Naidu directed government departments to devise comprehensive financial plans with short-, medium-, and long-term revenue strategies to inspire investor confidence. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement, gap identification, and seizing emerging opportunities. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of involving local fishermen in coastal tourism projects to ensure their direct benefit from such initiatives.
