Andhra Pradesh witnessed a 16% increase in commercial tax collections and a 21% growth in net GST in June 2026. The Chief Commissioner of State Tax highlighted the state’s consistent performance in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, with total collections rising to Rs 15,323 crore from Rs 12,480 crore, marking a 22.78% growth.

In June 2026 alone, total tax collections amounted to Rs 4,830 crore, showing a 15.93% rise from the previous year. The Commercial Taxes Department continued its disciplined revenue mobilization efforts, with net GST collections for June 2026 increasing by 21.35% year-on-year, reaching Rs 3,144 crore.

Andhra Pradesh’s tax growth outpaced the national average, standing at 21% compared to the national average of 9%, and surpassing other southern states like Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The state’s innovative initiatives, including AI-based analytics and enforcement measures, contributed to the significant revenue boost in June 2026.

The state’s tax administration’s modernization efforts, coupled with enhanced compliance and enforcement strategies, have positioned Andhra Pradesh for sustained revenue growth in the fiscal year 2026-27, aligning with its developmental goals.
