Olympian Anish Bhanwala secured a bronze in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in New Delhi. This marked his third Asian Championship medal. Kazakhstan had a dominant performance on day eight, claiming four gold medals at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.
Adriyan Karmakar and the junior men’s 25m RFP team from India also stood out by winning gold medals, contributing to India’s total of 41 gold, 19 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Anish Bhanwala and Adarsh Singh qualified in seventh and eighth place, ensuring two Indian shooters in the RFP final.
Former champion Nikita Chiryukin of Kazakhstan led the qualifiers with a score of 582, advancing with his teammates to the final round. In the final, Anish Bhanwala, Dai Yoshioka from Japan, and Nikita Chiryukin set the pace early on. Anish eventually secured the bronze medal, finishing with 23 hits, while Yoshioka set a world and Asian record score of 31 to claim gold.
