Annette Mahesh Gowda from Thane, Maharashtra, has excelled in women’s bench press competitions, securing two silver medals in consecutive months. She won one silver at the Continental level and another at the national level. Participating in the National Bench Press Championship in Faridabad, she clinched a silver in the Master 1 – 84 kg category, showcasing her strength progression.
In the previous month, Annette, aged 42, achieved a silver medal in the Master 1 – 84kg category at the Asian Open and Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship in Istanbul, Turkey. These victories add to her successful 2025-26 season, where she consistently performed well at district, state, national, and international levels in bench press events under various federations.
Under the guidance of coach Swapnil Patil at Riofitness Management since 2020, Annette’s journey began at the Thane District Bench Press Championship, where she lifted 75 kg to win the Strong Woman of Thane Title. She continued her success at the Maharashtra State Bench Press Championship, securing second place in her category with the same lift.
Annette’s dedication and progress have been evident as she represented her state and country across different levels. Recently, she competed in the Master 1 – 84 kg Category Bench Press Competition in Thane, Maharashtra, showcasing her strength and consistency among top lifters from various Indian states. Annette is now preparing for upcoming competitions to continue her winning streak for India.
