An online platform supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has been introduced to provide training in patent filing and research paper writing assistance. Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, announced this initiative, aiming to aid researchers, students, and innovators nationwide. The portal will offer structured guidance on scientific writing, publication processes, intellectual property protection, and patent-related procedures.
Improved accessibility to such resources is expected to enhance the quality of research outcomes and innovation. Dr. Singh highlighted the significance of the new portal in assisting researchers and young innovators in translating scientific work into publications and intellectual property assets. The minister led a Joint Review Meeting involving the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
Reviewing the progress of key scientific initiatives and coordination mechanisms, Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among scientific organizations under different departments. He stressed the need for integrated functioning to maximize national outcomes from research, innovation, and public investments in science and technology. The minister also called for structured mechanisms to facilitate information sharing on major projects, technological advancements, and institutional capabilities among laboratories and institutions.
Dr. Singh proposed incorporating presentations on significant scientific achievements during every review mechanism on a rotational basis. He underscored the utilization of digital platforms, social media, and emerging communication tools to make scientific achievements more accessible to citizens, students, startups, and researchers. Discussions during the meeting encompassed ongoing outreach programs, institutional communication strategies, ANRF initiatives, the newly launched research support portal, and the progress of programs by various scientific departments.
