In Karimnagar town of Telangana, a gang of about eight masked robbers looted 66 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs 21 lakh cash, and other valuables from a house in Bhagat Nagar. The robbers threatened the family with knives and revolvers, tied them up, and locked them in a room before fleeing. The police suspect the robbers escaped through the Vemulawada bypass and have launched an investigation, examining CCTV footage.
This incident marks the second major robbery in Karimnagar in less than three months. Previously, a gang had robbed a jewellery shop, injuring four employees and stealing gold jewellery and diamonds. The police investigation revealed the involvement of the notorious Subodh Singh gang from Bihar, known for sophisticated and professional robberies across multiple states. Subodh Singh had planned the robbery from Purnea jail, where he was incarcerated.
The victims reported that the robbers, who targeted the house due to the presence of senior citizens and women, spoke Hindi with a North Indian accent. It is believed that the robbers had prior knowledge of the house owner’s routine and the valuables inside. The gang’s modus operandi involved threatening the family members with weapons, looting the valuables, and escaping with motorbikes parked at the house.
