Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district found arms and ammunition during a search operation in the Rajpora forest area of Handwara. The recovered items included INSAS rifle ammunition, AK-47 ammunition, and a Chinese hand grenade.
In a separate incident, a terrorist associate was apprehended in Awantipora’s Wuyan Khrew area, with a pistol and live ammunition seized from him. The joint operation involved Awantipora Police, the 50 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army, and the 185 Battalion of the CRPF.
The arrested individual, identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam, was involved in providing logistical support to terrorists in Pampore, Tral, and Awantipora. Security forces are conducting aggressive operations against terrorists, their supporters, and sympathizers in the region.
Police are taking action against terrorism by attaching properties of terrorists, their supporters, and drug smugglers under the UAPA. These measures aim to dismantle the support network for terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
