A resident of J&K’s Rajouri district, Sachin Kumar, was captured by the army in Raipur village for possessing two foreign-made pistols, one from Turkey and the other from China, along with ammunition. Authorities found four magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition in his possession. A case has been filed against Sachin Kumar, and investigations are ongoing.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Sachin Kumar received the weapons from across the border and was supposed to deliver them to another individual. Security forces have initiated a search operation in the Marlog and Lodra forests in Udhampur district following reports of three suspected terrorists in the area. The army secures the 740-km-long LoC in J&K, while the BSF is responsible for the 240-km-long international border.
Efforts are being made to identify the intended recipient of the weapons and to dismantle any potential cross-border networks. Anti-terrorist operations in the region target terrorists, their overground workers, and supporters. Additionally, security forces are vigilant against drug smugglers, peddlers, and individuals involved in illicit financial activities like hawala, which are believed to fund terrorism in J&K.
