Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reiterated the continuation of Operation Sindoor, emphasizing the close monitoring of enemy actions. Referring to the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, General Dwivedi highlighted the decisive actions taken by India. Operation Sindoor, a result of this resolve, saw the engagement of nine terrorist camps and infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK within 22 minutes. The operation, involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, led to the destruction of seven targets by the Indian Army, compelling Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire within 88 hours.
General Dwivedi spoke about the upcoming 78th Army Day Parade in Rajasthan, emphasizing its special significance and the display of Indian Army’s strength and discipline. He commended units receiving COAS Citations and Certificates of Appreciation, extending best wishes to all officers, JCOs, and soldiers for their outstanding performance. Operation Sindoor remains ongoing, with a focus on strict monitoring of enemy activities and balanced deployment along the LAC.
General Dwivedi addressed the sensitive situation in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the Army’s firm control and reduced terrorist recruitment due to development activities. He highlighted the successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Yatra as a sign of trust and normalcy. The Army’s efforts in the Northeast, including proactive initiatives and security actions in Manipur, have led to improved security conditions. The Army’s work in HADR, with over 30,000 rescues this year, underscores its role as a first responder in border states.
