The police in Karnataka have apprehended a gunman associated with an aide of Congress MLA Nara Bharat Reddy concerning the fatal shooting during a clash where a Congress party worker lost his life. The incident, involving a confrontation over a banner installation, occurred between supporters of MLA Bharat Reddy and BJP MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy, raising significant concerns.
Gurucharan Singh, a private gunman of Satish Reddy, a close ally of Ballari city Congress MLA Bharat Reddy, has been confirmed as the individual responsible for the firing that resulted in the death of Congress worker Rajashekar. Following this confirmation, Singh was initially taken into custody and subsequently arrested by the police.
The police have disclosed that the fatal shot, fired by Gurucharan Singh from a distance of four to five feet, led to the tragic loss of life. Law enforcement authorities have detained 45 individuals for questioning and have formally arrested 26 persons, including 13 BJP members, in connection with the incident.
A total of nine gunmen have been apprehended, including those associated with various political figures. Medical examinations have been conducted on all the arrested individuals, and the police have seized five firearms related to the case. In response to the violence, BJP MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy has sought enhanced security measures for himself and his family, urging action against those involved in the clash.
