Manchester City’s pursuit of the Premier League title came to an end with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth, leading to Arsenal being declared champions for the 2025/26 season, marking their first title win in 22 years. Despite City’s efforts to keep the title race alive, a goal from Junior Kroupi in the 39th minute put them at a disadvantage, with Erling Haaland scoring a late goal to offer a glimmer of hope. However, City fell short in their bid for a seventh title under Pep Guardiola.

City, needing a win to stay in contention, faced a tough challenge against Bournemouth, with both teams showcasing high-quality football. Despite creating numerous opportunities, including an Antoine Semenyo goal disallowed for offside, City could not secure the victory required to extend the title race. The match ended with Arsenal claiming the championship, denying City the chance to add to their Carabao Cup and FA Cup successes.

In a closely contested game, City and Bournemouth displayed their attacking prowess early on, with chances at both ends. City’s Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo came close to scoring, while Bournemouth’s Evanilson missed a clear opportunity. The match saw late drama with David Brooks hitting the post for Bournemouth, and Rodri’s shot hitting the woodwork before Haaland scored a late consolation goal for City.

Both teams played with determination, with Bournemouth securing European football for the first time in their history with the draw. Despite City’s relentless efforts to salvage the game, time ran out on their title aspirations, ultimately conceding the crown to Arsenal.
