Fast bowler Arshad Khan impressed with three wickets as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) struggled, getting bowled out for 155 runs in 19.2 overs against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB, batting first, faced a slow start with Mohammed Siraj’s tight opening over restricting them to just six runs.
The momentum shifted quickly in the next over when Virat Kohli’s aggressive play against Kagiso Rabada boosted RCB, scoring five consecutive boundaries. However, Gujarat Titans fought back, with Siraj taking the first wicket by dismissing Jacob Bethell early on. Kohli’s dismissal for a quick 28 off 13 balls added pressure on RCB.
Despite the setbacks, Devdutt Padikkal’s attacking play kept RCB’s scoring rate high, ending the powerplay at 59/2. Captain Rajat Patidar’s partnership with Padikkal was short-lived as Arshad Khan’s bowling dismissed him, leading to controversy over a catch. GT continued to dominate, with Holder and Rashid Khan taking crucial wickets, leaving RCB struggling at 91/5 by the 10th over.
Padikkal fought valiantly, scoring 40 off 24 balls, but RCB’s lower order collapsed, failing to make a significant impact. Arshad Khan’s three wickets, supported by Holder and Rashid Khan with two wickets each, led GT to a strong bowling performance. RCB’s innings ended disappointingly before completing 20 overs, with GT in a commanding position.
