Artistes who performed at the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s 50th Year of Statehood celebrations expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acknowledging them during his visit. PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth around Rs 4,000 crore in Sikkim, emphasizing the region’s significance.
Pravesh Tamang, Art Director of Music In Motion Dance Academy, part of the cultural troupe, appreciated PM Modi for personally recognizing each performer. He thanked the Prime Minister for inspiring the youth and described the hard work put into the performance, which was canceled previously due to bad weather.
Mohammed Jamshed, part of the Vande Bharat Express train troupe, also thanked PM Modi for recognizing their efforts. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s praise for Sikkim’s tourism and connectivity, expressing hope for improved rail connectivity to the state.
A Class 12 student, part of the Lepcha community group, mentioned the diverse dance forms showcased during the performance, including Garba, Lepcha, South Indian, Lavani, Bihu, Bhangra, and Kashmiri. The student shared the pride felt when PM Modi applauded their formation of India’s map during the performance, emphasizing the significance of the Prime Minister’s recognition.
