The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has given the green light to a Rs 7,834-crore development package. This initiative includes reforms in governance, education, infrastructure, and employment to enhance the quality of life, business environment, and public services in the state.
Investments have been sanctioned for four key Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Schemes for the period of 2026-2029. Notably, Rs 2,334 crore has been allocated for Phase-II of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive State Road Development Plan to enhance connectivity in various key areas.
Additionally, Rs 2,000 crore has been earmarked for the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive State Rural Road Development Programme to ensure all-weather connectivity to habitations not covered under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Another Rs 2,000 crore has been approved for the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive State Power Development Programme to modernize power infrastructure and reduce losses by March 2029.
The Cabinet has also cleared Rs 1,500 crore for Phase-II of Mission Shikshit Arunachal (2026-2029) to address school infrastructure gaps, improve teacher training, enhance digital monitoring, and boost learning outcomes. This comprehensive investment of Rs 7,834 crore aims to merge Central and State schemes to bridge critical infrastructure and education gaps.
