Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd) and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan met in New Delhi to talk about national security issues, focusing on Arunachal Pradesh. They specifically addressed border security, the Vibrant Village Programme, and goodwill projects in frontier areas. The Governor shared insights from his recent visits to remote border regions, emphasizing the need to enhance border management and infrastructure due to challenges along the eastern border.
The Governor praised the armed forces in Arunachal Pradesh for their cooperation with the state government, which has led to the development of frontier villages while ensuring security and progress hand in hand. He also lauded the efforts of the 3 Corps and 4 Corps in strengthening civil-military relations through various programs benefiting those in remote border areas. During a visit to the border outpost in Tawang district, the Governor encouraged troops to maintain high morale and readiness in challenging conditions.
Lt Gen Parnaik engaged with Indian Army and ITBP personnel, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifices. He emphasized the importance of physical and mental fitness, unity, and discipline for operational readiness and national security. Stressing civil-military harmony, he advised security forces to maintain positive relationships with local communities for effective operations.
