Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) met Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan in New Delhi to talk about crucial national security matters and other issues. The discussion focused on key national security issues, with a special emphasis on Arunachal Pradesh, including initiatives like the Vibrant Border Village Programme, the Agnipath scheme, and the Sadbhavana projects in border areas.
During the meeting, the Governor, currently on an official visit to the national capital, highlighted the potential of Arunachal Pradesh’s youth and stressed the importance of offering them more opportunities to join the armed forces. He emphasized that involving the youth would not only enhance national security but also empower them through discipline, skill development, and a sense of service to the nation.
Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.), drawing from his experience in border management and counter-insurgency operations, emphasized the significance of theatre commands and the continuous enhancement of the operational and combat capabilities of the Indian armed forces. Additionally, the Governor extended warm New Year greetings to the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh for a prosperous 2026, acknowledging the state’s progress in 2025 and praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for national development.
