Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd) stressed the importance of heightened vigilance and regular patrolling along the international border for safeguarding the nation’s strategic interests. In a meeting with General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 4 Corps, Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla, discussions revolved around the security situation along the border, measures to enhance border management, and welfare initiatives for people in remote areas. Lt Gen Parnaik (Retd) underscored the necessity of seamless coordination between the Armed Forces and civil administration for effective security management.
The Governor praised the Armed Forces for their dedication to national security and their positive interactions with local communities through various initiatives. He highlighted the impact of programs like promoting Self Help Groups, coaching students for Sainik Schools admissions, and encouraging youth to join the Armed Forces in improving education, healthcare, and community welfare services in remote regions. These efforts also contribute to building trust, goodwill, and national integration among the local population.
GOC 4 Corps Lt Gen Shukla updated the Governor on the operational readiness of the 4 Corps, security measures in place, and developmental activities in border districts. He assured the Governor of the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region while extending support to the civil administration and the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
