Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) highlighted the significance of good governance in fostering inclusive growth and sustainable development. He stressed that good governance aims to enhance the quality of life for all citizens. Celebrating Good Governance Day, the Governor emphasized the need for transparency, accountability, and citizen-focused administration to achieve comprehensive progress.
The Governor extended warm wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Good Governance Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He expressed hope that the day would serve as a reminder of public accountability’s importance and inspire a commitment to integrity and transparency in governance. Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.) called for transparent and efficient government systems that actively engage citizens in the development process.
Emphasizing the legacy of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Governor described him as a remarkable statesman, visionary leader, eloquent orator, and distinguished writer. He highlighted Vajpayee’s belief in empowering people through economic growth and social progress. Encouraging the adoption of good governance principles, the Governor urged the people of Arunachal Pradesh to work collectively for the nation’s service and public welfare.
The Good Governance Day was observed in Northeastern states through seminars and various events, including in Manipur, where special camps were organized to enhance citizen-centric governance and public service delivery. Stalls from different government departments were set up for grievance redressal and public service delivery, focusing on strengthening governance at the grassroots level. In Mizoram, a Good Governance Workshop underscored the importance of transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in public administration.
