Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd) highlighted the importance of extending banking services to all villages and remote areas in the state. He emphasized that easy access to financial services is crucial for boosting socio-economic progress and promoting financial inclusion. The Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB), Vikal Sharma, met with the Governor to discuss the bank’s operations and initiatives.
The Governor commended the role of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank in fostering inclusive growth and socio-economic development. He urged the bank to focus on supporting local communities, including entrepreneurs, start-ups, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), farmers, and rural youth, by providing access to credit, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship assistance. Lt Gen Parnaik (Retd) emphasized that timely financial aid can help turn innovative ideas into sustainable businesses, creating job opportunities and contributing to a self-reliant and economically vibrant Arunachal Pradesh.
Governor Parnaik encouraged the bank to collaborate with government agencies and development partners to ensure that welfare programs, livelihood initiatives, and financial inclusion efforts effectively reach the targeted beneficiaries. He expressed confidence in APRB’s role as a driver of grassroots development and economic empowerment in the state. The Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank informed the Governor about the bank’s inclusive banking services provided through its 38 branches and its ongoing expansion efforts.
APRB is leveraging modern technologies and various service channels to improve access to banking and insurance services across the state. During the meeting, APRB General Manager (Vigilance) Nitul Phukan and Senior Manager Nako Taker were also in attendance.
