Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General K. T. Parnaik (Retd) met with Home Minister Mama Natung to discuss the issue of illegal immigrants constructing unauthorized settlements in the state. The Governor emphasized the importance of taking prompt and effective action to prevent such activities, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures and border management.
During the meeting, they also addressed concerns related to security, law and order, and indigenous affairs in the state. Lt General Parnaik recommended leveraging technology to strengthen security systems, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for modernizing governance practices.
Recognizing the significance of cyber security in the digital age, the Governor stressed the use of geo-spatial technology for effective governance. He urged a proactive approach towards cyber security to ensure the safety and confidence of all citizens in Arunachal Pradesh.
Commending the recent conduct of Panchayat and local bodies’ elections, Lt General Parnaik praised the Home Minister and the police force for their efforts. He also lauded the Home Minister’s leadership in combating drug-related issues, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the youth and social harmony in the state.
Expressing concern for public safety, especially in light of recent accidents, the Governor advised close monitoring of night-time vehicle movements by district police. He emphasized the importance of proactive measures, timely supervision, and effective coordination at the district level to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
