Aryan Gupta from Ludhiana clinched the top spot in the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, securing an All India Rank of 1. The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently disclosed the results of the exam. Gupta, who aspires to follow his family’s medical legacy, expressed gratitude for surpassing his expected score after the initial exam cancellation due to alleged paper leaks.
Hailing from a family of medical professionals, Gupta revealed that his relatives, spanning multiple generations, are all doctors. His preparation strategy involved diligent classwork completion and adherence to teacher-assigned tasks over two years. Despite occasional breaks for short OTT content viewing, limited to 20 minutes during meals, Gupta maintained a rigorous study routine, averaging 12-13 hours daily, escalating to 16-17 hours nearing the exam date.
Acknowledging the role of hard work, luck, and divine favor in his success, Gupta emphasized the necessity of divine intervention and favorable circumstances. Reflecting on the exam rescheduling following the leak incident, Gupta shared his initial shock and subsequent reinvigorated preparation efforts. The re-exam proved beneficial as Gupta exceeded his anticipated score of 696 from the previous test, achieving 715 marks despite facing a more challenging question paper.
Gupta attributed part of his achievement to his elder brother, Aditya Gupta, a NEET-UG qualifier who provided valuable guidance during the preparation phase. Praising his son’s accomplishment, Gupta’s mother, Reenu Gupta, commended both her children for consistently excelling academically. Father Sachin Gupta expressed immense pride in Aryan’s remarkable feat of securing the top rank among nearly 23 lakh candidates, underscoring the family’s unwavering support for his chosen career path.
Uplaksh Goyal, securing AIR three in the same exam, emphasized the significance of parental encouragement and steadfast focus on academic pursuits. Goyal highlighted the pivotal role played by supportive parents and dedicated teachers in shaping his educational journey towards success.
