AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized the importance of Muslims in India establishing their own political leadership rather than relying on existing secular parties. He expressed disappointment in these parties for failing to prevent the BJP’s rise, urging Muslims to reconsider their voting choices. Owaisi highlighted the need for Muslims to have a political voice while also opposing fascist and communal forces.
Owaisi criticized the so-called secular parties for their inability to counter the BJP’s influence, citing instances in various states where these parties fell short. He specifically called out Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal for allegedly exploiting Muslim voters without addressing their socio-economic concerns. Additionally, Owaisi underscored the significance of Muslim representation in politics and the necessity for a united political front.
The AIMIM leader pointed out the BJP’s success in West Bengal despite the significant Muslim population in certain constituencies. He expressed hope that the BJP government would prioritize the welfare of all sections of society, including Muslims, to prevent marginalization. Owaisi also highlighted reasons for the Trinamool’s defeat in West Bengal, mentioning anti-incumbency sentiments and alleged mistreatment of the Muslim community.
Owaisi commended the voters in West Bengal for their support to AIMIM candidates, despite not winning any seats. He expressed optimism about the party’s future in regions like Malda and Murshidabad, vowing to address shortcomings and work diligently. Regarding the Assam election results, Owaisi criticized Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s actions against Muslims and emphasized the need for stronger Muslim representation in politics.
