Assam Chief Minister Affirms Commitment to Tea Garden Communities and Rural Development

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated the government’s dedication to the welfare and progress of tea garden communities and rural areas. He emphasized that all pledges made during the election campaigns would be honored gradually. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of addressing the concerns raised by residents, such as housing, agriculture, employment, and basic infrastructure.

Sarma mentioned that the government is actively engaging with the feedback and suggestions received from people during the election campaign. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling the long-pending demands of the local residents, particularly focusing on enhancing housing facilities and development support for economically disadvantaged families in tea estates and remote rural regions.

The Chief Minister outlined the government’s vision to enhance both the agriculture and rural development sectors in the State. He emphasized the goal of creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, enhancing infrastructure, and implementing welfare measures in tea garden areas. Sarma also highlighted the support extended by the Central Government for various welfare and development projects in Assam, emphasizing the importance of coordination between the State and Centre for the successful implementation of rural connectivity, welfare schemes, and agricultural growth initiatives.

Sarma assured that the government would continue to engage in discussions with stakeholders and local communities to effectively address their concerns. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing the development of tea garden areas and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach all deserving households. The Chief Minister underscored Assam’s potential for robust growth in agriculture, the rural economy, and social welfare, emphasizing the government’s collective efforts towards inclusive and sustainable development across the State.
