Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has accused Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi of having strong connections with Pakistan. Sarma mentioned that detailed information on this issue will be disclosed soon. He alleged that Gogoi was working on behalf of a foreign country and claimed to possess concrete evidence to support his claims.
Sarma intensified his criticism of Gogoi, labeling him a “Pakistani agent” and alleging that he was placed in India by foreign forces. The Chief Minister challenged the Assam Congress president to take legal action against him if he believed otherwise. Sarma also stated that he had substantial evidence of Gogoi’s alleged associations with foreign entities, which he promised to reveal publicly.
Further emphasizing his stance, Sarma reiterated his accusation, stating unequivocally, “He is a pure Pakistani agent, and I say this as a Chief Minister.” Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating Gogoi’s purported Pakistan ties submitted a detailed report to Sarma last year, a significant development in the ongoing investigation. The report reportedly includes technical evidence and witness statements gathered during the inquiry.
Gaurav Gogoi responded by challenging CM Sarma to substantiate his claims about the alleged Pakistan connections. Gogoi urged Sarma to disclose all relevant information instead of creating false narratives for political gain ahead of the Assembly elections.
