Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that there is an ample supply of cooking gas in the state, addressing concerns arising from the Israel-Iran conflict. Sarma emphasized that the government is closely monitoring the situation to prevent any disruptions in LPG supply.
He reassured the public that there is no need to panic as the Government of India is actively engaging with various countries to maintain a continuous flow of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) into the nation. Sarma highlighted India’s diversified energy import network and the measures being taken by the central government to safeguard the supply chains.
Amid speculations on social media about a potential LPG shortage, Sarma urged against panic buying or hoarding of cylinders. He advised citizens to continue their usual LPG purchases, emphasizing that there is no immediate crisis in Assam. The state government, in coordination with central agencies and petroleum companies, is ensuring the stability of supply chains to maintain normal distribution across Assam.
