After Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as Assam Chief Minister for the second time, his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, hailed the BJP-led alliance’s win in 102 seats as a strong response to alleged false accusations. She thanked the people for trusting the BJP, PM Modi’s government, and her husband once again. The victory marks the third consecutive term for the BJP-led NDA in Assam.
Riniki Bhuyan Sharma dismissed Congress leader Pawan Khera’s allegations, stating that Assam’s people have moved past personal attacks and baseless claims. She emphasized that the election outcome, with 102 seats secured by the BJP alliance, refutes the lies spread. Ahead of the polls, Khera had accused Sharma of holding foreign passports, a claim vehemently denied by the Chief Minister and his family.
Sharma highlighted that Assam now prioritizes progress over personal politics, rejecting false narratives. She noted that the electorate’s focus is on development and change, evident in the mandate of 102 seats. Expressing gratitude, Sarma’s daughter, Sukanya Sarma, thanked supporters for believing in her father’s dedication and hard work.
At a grand ceremony in Guwahati, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath to Himanta Biswa Sarma in the presence of PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other BJP and NDA leaders. Five Ministers, including Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro, and Ajanta Neog, also took office as part of the new Council of Ministers.
