Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the state has excelled in the NITI Aayog’s Investment Friendliness Index due to continuous policy reforms, enhanced infrastructure, and a secure law and order environment. Sarma emphasized that Assam has become a favored investment spot and encouraged both local and global investors to explore opportunities within the state.
Highlighting Assam’s increasing attractiveness to investors, the Chief Minister attributed this success to the government’s efforts in establishing a business-friendly atmosphere. Additionally, Assam secured the second position among hilly and Northeastern states in terms of investment appeal, showcasing its progress in this sector.
Sarma credited the state’s positive performance to industry-friendly policies, a supportive institutional framework, and a conducive business environment. Factors such as low interest burdens, minimal labor disruptions, and improved law and order conditions have boosted investor confidence in Assam.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity through various infrastructure projects and increasing investments in education and skill development to nurture a skilled workforce for emerging industries. These initiatives are seen as instrumental in fostering sustained industrial growth and economic development in Assam.
