Assam filmmaker Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah’s Assamese movie “Rador Pakhi” has been honored with the Jury Special Mention — Super Mama Award at the International Film Festival Made by Women in Moscow. The film, inspired by writer Sarmistha Pritam’s real-life story, centers on Jyoti, a young aspiring writer from Assam facing spinal muscular atrophy. Despite physical challenges, Jyoti’s determination to lead an independent life and pursue her literary dreams is the film’s emotional core.
Director Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah expressed joy at the recognition, calling it a proud moment for the entire team. The award, she said, holds special meaning for them. Dr. Baruah dedicated the accolade to the cast and crew, recognizing their dedication in bringing the story to the screen.
