Assam Finance Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah emphasized the importance of maximizing fund utilization in the state government’s upcoming Budget. Nearly 90% of the current year’s budget allocations have already been spent, showcasing improved implementation capacity. Mallabaruah aims for close to 100% expenditure to enhance the impact of public spending.
The Budget formulation involves consultations with stakeholders and incorporates suggestions from various societal segments. Efficient financial resource utilization remains a top priority to sustain Assam’s developmental progress. Assam has made significant strides in fiscal management, enabling major infrastructure and welfare projects without compromising financial stability.
The forthcoming Budget will prioritize investments in infrastructure, employment, agriculture, education, healthcare, and social welfare. Mallabaruah stressed the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public spending, urging timely project execution and efficient budget use. The Assam Budget Session begins on July 6, focusing on economic growth, public service enhancement, and flagship scheme implementation.
