Assam Rifles and the Indian Army recently carried out joint flood relief and disaster response training exercises in Tripura and Mizoram to boost coordination and readiness before the monsoon season. The two-day training in Tripura aimed at ensuring smooth flood relief operations during natural calamities and strengthening cooperation between the forces. Troops from both entities engaged in disaster management drills and practiced rescue procedures to enhance their emergency response capabilities.
In Mizoram, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Central Young Lai Association (CYLA), organized a four-day disaster preparedness and response training in Lawngtlai district. This initiative focused on equipping local communities with essential skills for the upcoming monsoon challenges, including flood relief, fire-fighting, and Medical Evacuation procedures. By combining Assam Rifles’ expertise with CYLA’s grassroots network, the program aimed to establish a robust disaster response framework in the border regions.
The joint exercises in Tripura and Mizoram significantly improved coordination between Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, ensuring their readiness for coordinated disaster relief operations when needed. These training programs underscored the commitment of security forces to provide timely assistance during natural disasters and emergencies, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and collaborative response efforts.
